Our Story
A Father-and-Son Journey Built on Purpose, People & Potential
At WorkWise Sports, our story starts with two generations, one shared mission:
to help young people find real futures through sport, education, and employment.
Founded by Nathan Green and his dad, Stephen Green, our business was born out of a growing frustration — too many young people were leaving school without direction, confidence, or any idea of what was possible in the world of work. Especially in sport, where the career paths are wide, varied, and too often misunderstood.

From School Halls to Sports Clubs
As a qualified Attendance Officer working in a busy secondary school, Nathan saw the same issues every day. Students unsure of their options. Lacking motivation. Struggling to connect classroom learning to the real world.
At the same time, Stephen— with over 30 years of experience in Consultation, personal development and project management— was supporting adults to find purpose in their careers. The conversation naturally evolved:
“What if we started earlier? What if we gave young people the tools now, instead of waiting until they were lost later?”
And that’s how WorkWise Sports began — a business that blends practical career guidance, personal growth, and the power of sport to help young people take their first steps into the world of work with clarity and confidence.
Blending Experience with Energy
Together, we’ve built programmes that reflect our lived experience:
Nathan brings the school-based insight — understanding behaviour, barriers, and what makes young people tick.
Joe brings the recruitment mindset — knowing what employers look for, how to help people grow, and how to make career journeys feel personal.
We’re not outsiders or one-time speakers. We build relationships, deliver outcomes, and return year after year to support the journey.

Why Sport?
Sport is more than fitness or competition. It teaches discipline, teamwork, leadership, communication — all the qualities employers value. But for many students, they only see two routes: play professionally or coach on weekends.
We’re here to open that door wide — showing the hundreds of roles in sport and related industries that are realistic, rewarding, and achievable with the right mindset and preparation.
From sports marketing to groundskeeping, youth work to physiotherapy, there’s a career path for everyone. We just help young people see it.
Built on Trust and Impact
We’re proud to be family-run, people-first, and impact-focused. Every workshop we deliver, every school we support, and every young person we meet is treated with the care and ambition we’d want for our own family.
“We’re not just delivering a service — we’re building futures. And that means showing up, being real, and making sure every student leaves our session with something that sticks.”
— Nathan Green, Founder

What’s Next?
We’re growing — not just in reach, but in impact. We’re developing new partnerships with employers, expanding our Talent Hub, and introducing more tools that schools can use to deliver career support year-round.
But we’re still grounded in the same belief that started it all:
- Young people deserve better career support.
- We’re here to make that happen.
